» Yard of the Month

Each month, OLHNA nominates a yard of the month in our area. The ideal candidate should have:

A nice manicured lawn
Colorful flower beds
Good use of native flowers and trees
Demonstrate water wise landscaping techniques
Other interesting features such as vegetable gardens or ponds

The July 2010 Yard of the Month belongs to Jeanne and William B. Larson at 10311 Country Club Drive. The Larson’s property is not ony beautiful, but also boasts a HUGE vegetable/flower garden.

“We actually lived here 30+ years ago-our first house-but with expanding family moved to the other side of Lake Highlands in bigger house-rented this all along with plans to return. We remodeled and moved back last summer. “

June 2010 Yard of the Month belongs to Patti Arvin at 10215 Medlock. Patti’s yard is not only beautiful, but it’s environmentally friendly as well. Patti has been practicing organic gardening for over 10 years now, and her hard work definitely shows.
