Benefits of Membership
Are you an OLHNA member? There are so many reasons to join and no reason not to! You don’t have to socialize, although we have a great time when we do, and you don’t have to serve on any committees or do any work… although you are always welcome to join us in any of the many projects, events and activities that we sponsor. There is truly something for everyone—even if all you want from the association is knowing that there are committed neighborhood volunteers who are actively working to protect and preserve the beauty and high-level of desirability that our neighborhood enjoys.
Among other things, annual dues fund distribution of the OLHNA News, this website, beautification projects and specific crime-watch activities. Although membership is voluntary, certain benefits, such as access to the OLHNA on-line forum, two-additional editions of the OLHNA newsletter each year, and the opportunity to vote on OLHNA issues are available only to paid members.
All residents are encouraged to attend our general meetings and members are welcome to attend the monthly board meetings.
Know Your Neighbors!
We conduct two neighborhood meetings annually in the spring and fall so you can get to know your neighbors, find out what's going in the neighborhood and meet your Board. Stay tuned to the Events page for upcoming meeting dates.
What Do Your Membership Dues Pay For?
General Membership- Join now for only $20, per household.
Senior membership is only $5 per year, due April 1 every year- for 70 year old member of household.
We give to the community in many ways, including the following:
- Gas money for our Volunteers In Patrol (VIP) program- neighborhood volunteers who drive around & keep an eye out for us.
- Professional services- we have a CPA for example
- Insurance- we carry necessary insurance
- Dues to Preservation Dallas & Lake Highlands Area Improvement Assoc.
- Support local Elementary school in fund raising
- Web Site Sponsoring and Newsletters- we pay fees to keep you informed
- Rental fees for places where we meet
- Printing and mailing expenses- we send out postcards for important notices
- Our metal signs
- Office supplies, Post Office Box rental
- A phone line for Security Hot Line in case of emergency
- Refreshments for neighborhood gatherings
It is a very worthwhile cause to contribute to the volunteers who help your community. You receive the benefits whether you contribute financially or not, so why not pitch in?
