Summary of PetWatch Pet Team Meeting on 5/9 @ Green Spot

Pet Capture/Contain Kits were given to those present. The Capture Kit contains a slip leash, doggy bags, cat food, step by step guide on how to contain/report a Found Pet, Pet Team contact list, Pet Tag Postcards to give to pet owners whose pet goes missing without tags, as well as a summary of PetWatch programs. I will be adding a step by step guide on how to find/report a lost pet along with a brochure version PetWatch programs to this kit. We are being very cost sensitive since our funds are somewhat limited at this point. We would like to also create a Foster Kit that we could give to residents who foster lost or found pets in the neighborhood. The main thing that we need to focus on is getting more supplier sponsorships so that we can provide Pet Team volunteers with the tools necessary to contain and foster pets in OLH. Also, we believe we should add Pet Business Sponsorship Levels to the website to help with our efforts.
Currently, OLHNA PetWatch has fostered 15 dogs. 3 of the found dogs that were temporarily fostered were reunited with their owners (2 within the neighborhood, 1 outside the neighborhood) 7 dogs have been adopted, (1 was adopted in NYC, 2 puppies were adopted in the neighborhood, 3 dogs were adopted outside the neighborhood). 1 foster was transported to another foster in another city, 1 foster was transferred to another foster in another neighborhood (adoption status is unknown) 2 puppies are pending adoption, and 1 dog is under foster care inside the neighborhood until recovered from surgery, then he will be placed in foster care outside the neighborhood. We have been busy!! Thank you for everyone who supports our efforts. It takes a village!
