Old Lake Highlands Neighborhood Association

Welcome to the official site for the Old Lake Highlands Neighborhood Association (OLHNA)!

Established in 1946, Old Lake Highlands Neighborhood is comprised of approximately 1,700 homes located within the boundaries of Northwest Hwy., Buckner Blvd., and Lake Highlands Drive.  Located just 10 miles northeast of downtown, we are proud to be a part of the White Rock Lake community—almost completely surrounded by greenbelt and atop some of the highest elevation in the city.

Old Lake Highlands is an established Dallas neighborhood with a great sense of community.  It’s a place we are proud to call home.

Yard of the Month

This month Old Lake Highlands Neighborhood Association is proud to feature the home of Taylor Morris at 560 Peavy Road.

Built in 1950, this postwar baby boomer cottage had two bedrooms that were configured onto a louvered glass “sleeping porch” and a one-car garage. Times were simpler then and in order to evolve into its new millennial form, the house had to surrender the louvered porch to new office space that soaks in natural light through a frosted storefront window, built to mirror the sleek new glass garage door that doubles as a greenhouse for tropicals in the frost-prone late winter period. Hardy yucca, palm and other proven adapted plants frame extensive outdoor living spaces both in front and back. From post war, to post millennial, this house is one more corner of Old Lake Highlands to love.
