OLH Turkey Trot 2026

Join your Old Lake Highlands neighbors for our second annual Turkey Trot — a casual Thanksgiving morning fun run/walk 5k starting and finishing at East Dallas Middle Ground.

Event Details

  • When: Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026

  • Where: Start and finish at East Dallas Middle Ground (718 N Buckner Blvd, Dallas, TX 75218)

  • Format: Untimed 5K run/walk — well behaved dogs and strollers welcome

  • Start Time: Choose 8:30 AM; walkers, please line up toward the back

A huge thank-you to East Dallas Middle Ground for opening early and hosting us again this year!

Registration & Pricing

This is our first year charging a registration fee, which will help us cover event costs like signage, bibs, and finisher medals for our youngest trotters. We’ve aimed to keep this event affordable for the entire neighborhood making t-shirts optional.

Registration to open by September 30, 2026.

Costume Contest

Bring your Thanksgiving spirit! Dress up as a turkey, pumpkin pie, pilgrim — whatever gets you in the spirit — and join our costume contest right at the start/finish line. Dogs in costume welcome too.

No entry fee beyond registration — just show up ready to have fun. Winners announced after the trot, will receive a prize.

Good to Know

  • Parking: Parking is available in the shopping center.

  • Waiver: A liability waiver is required at checkout for all registrants (parents/guardians sign for kids).

  • Weather: The trot happens rain or shine; we'll post any changes here and on our neighborhood channels.
