East Lake Dental is new OLHNA Business Sponsor

East Lake Dental opened their doors in September 2017, next door to El Vecino (at Northcliff & Buckner). When asked about why he chose the location, Dr. Brent DeSutter says that he “Love[s] the ‘close-knit neighborhood in a big city’ feel of OLH, and the people are so friendly and supportive.” he adds, “I get to do what I love for a living, and then after work I can go for a jog by the lake! This ‘hood is seriously awesome!”

After graduating from dental school in San Antonio, Dr. DeSutter did a residency at the VA Hospital in Portland, OR. He then practiced in Colorado Springs before deciding it was time to start his own practice near family, in Texas.  East Lake Dental treats all ages, and their favorite thing to hear is, “I never thought I would look forward to going to the dentist!” This super friendly staff also loves to meet people, so even if you are not looking for a dentist don’t hesitate to drop by to say “hi!”. Check out their website for more information: www.eastlakedds.com      Thank you, Dr. DeSutter, for supporting OLH

East Dallas Familia Block Party Saturday October 7th- Join us!

10/5/2017
Picture
www.eventbrite.com/e/first-annual-east-dallas-familia-block-party-benefitting-guns-and-hoses-tickets-38260391862Hey Old Lake Highlands!

You're Invited! Join Us for the East Dallas Familia Block Party
This Saturday Night at 6:00pm Benefiting Guns & Hoses!
9501 Waterview Road, Dallas, TX 75218

On 9/17 our neighbors, Laura and Colin Crawford, and their 2 children, lost their house in a fire. Watching the community come together to help them was inspiring. There were offers for assistance with housing, cleaning, fundraising, clothing, and meal support. The Crawfords are very grateful for all of the amazing support from their East Dallas Familia

-- What can you do?-

Attend - Come out and join us. Attendance is free. Listen to resident music genius, Chris Penn, of Good Records and Good Pagoda, mix music full of subliminal messages that will make us spend more money. Make a donation for food, which will be provided by Greenville Aveune Pizza Co. and One 90 BBQ. Food will be cash donations only, so please bring cash!!! Buy a shirt. Meet your neighbors and thank a fire fighter.

Buy a shirt* - Shirts available for preorder here or at the event. While attendance is free, buying a "ticket" here reserves you a shirt!

Donate - If you just love firefighters and don't care about T-shirts, just give

Donations and portions of food and T-Shirt sales benefit Guns and Hoses of North Texax

Here is the link to order a shirt and/or make a donation

--What can I bring? -

Seating! Folding chairs/blankets/bean bags/siblings you don't like
Drinks! We will have water, but bring a cooler with whatever you want to drink.

* In order to support our community we are using a local company to make the shirts. Without knowing the demand we can't plan for how many shirts to make. We will have shirts at the event to pick up if you pre-ordered, or buy on the spot. But if demand is too great, we may have to print more after the event. In which case they will be available for pick up at Good Pagoda. Your patience with this process is greatly appreciated, because most of the organizers have full time jobs, families, and questionable drinking habits that might delay delivery.
